I must confess that I do not like cold temperatures! The winters in Maine can seem to drag on and I am always surprised and excited when I see the first Crocus flowers in bloom. They are so brave and courageous to spread their petals when there is usually snow still on the ground!
The original drawing was created with pastel pencils on PastelMat paper and was quite a challenge. So many purples, blues and pinks were used to create the shading and shadows. I definitely learned a lot from this piece.
