This drawing is a tribute to my Grandmother who loved butterflies. My siblings and I always think of her whenever we see one. This particular butterfly is a Citrus Swallowtail and it is resting on a plant called Nightshade. At first I thought I would fix it's tattered wings when I painted it but I decided that there was beauty in all its imperfections. I used pastel pencils on PastelMat for the original.
