This piece is the ORIGINAL Pastel painting titled 'Marshall Point Light, Maine'.
I used pastel pencils on PastelMat card. The artwork measures 10" x 10" and has an archival white mat. It has a custom wood frame measuring 16" x 16" from Small Wonder Gallery with Museum Glass to reduce reflective glare and prevent fading. It has a wire for hanging.

The Marshall Point Lighthouse is located at the tip of the St. George Peninsula and overlooks the mouth of Port Clyde Harbor in Maine. My reference photo was taken on a beautiful November day at sunset. The original artwork was created using pastel pencils on PastelMat. We have visited this lighthouse many times and usually take guests to see this gorgeous area.
The current tower was built at the water's edge in 1858. It is 24 feet from the base to the light level with the first 12 feet constructed of granite blocks and the remaining 12 are brick. The lantern is made of cast iron and houses a Fresnel lens that shines a fixed white light.
Of course it MUST be mentioned that this is the lighthouse featured in the movie Forrest Gump ! Tom Hanks' character concludes his cross-country run on the walkway leading up to the lighthouse.
